Against the Grain

The art exhibition “Against the grain” features modern and contemporary abstract artists whose works challenge and subvert traditional norms and conventions. The exhibition aims to showcase the diversity and complexity of contemporary art by highlighting the ways in which artists push the boundaries of form, color, and meaning to create powerful and provocative works.

The exhibition highlights the innovative ways in which the artists are using paint and other materials to create textured, three-dimensional works. By focusing on the materiality of paint rather than the paint itself, the exhibition challenges traditional notions of painting and invites the viewer to reconsider their assumptions about what art can be. Whether through large, heavily textured canvases or delicate, translucent heavy concrete sculptures, the works on display in “Against the Grain” remind us that art can be a powerful tool for questioning, challenging, and transforming the world around us.

“Against the grain” is a thought-provoking and engaging exhibition that invites the viewer to think

critically about the role of art in contemporary society.

By showcasing artists who challenge and subvert traditional norms and conventions, the exhibition encourages us to reconsider our assumptions about what art should be, and what it can do.
